PERMA-HAND™ Suture, Black, Size 7-0, 18", G-7 Needle is a sterile, nonabsorbable surgical suture composed of natural silk, an organic protein derived from the domesticated silkworm Bombyx mori. The silk fibers are carefully processed to eliminate natural waxes and gums, resulting in a smooth, consistent strand. This refinement enhances the suture’s tensile reliability while preserving its pliability for precise manipulation during suturing.

The suture is coated with a special wax blend that functions as a lubricant, improving its overall handling characteristics. This coating reduces friction during passage through tissue and enhances knot security, enabling surgeons to tie secure, compact knots with fewer throws. Despite being nonabsorbable, the silk undergoes gradual encapsulation by fibrous connective tissue.

The attached G-7 reverse cutting needle features a 3/8 circle geometry designed for precision in dense or fibrous tissue. PERMA-HAND™ Size 7-0 is commonly used in delicate procedures such as ophthalmic, microsurgery, and plastic surgery, where fine control and minimal tissue trauma are critical.
